The cast of the highly anticipated drama “Our Blooming Youth” gathered together at the press conference to talk about their drama!

On the afternoon of February 1, a press conference for tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Our Blooming Youth” was held online. Director Lee Jong Jae, Park Hyung Sik, Jeon So Nee, Pyo Ye Yin, Yoon Jong Seok, and Lee Tae Sun attended the event.

tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Our Blooming Youth” is a drama about a prince who is under a mysterious curse and a genius girl who was framed as the culprit of her family’s murder overnight. Director Lee Jong Jae, who showed the myth of a youth historical drama with “100 Days Of My Prince,” and screenwriter Jung Hyun Jung, who wrote legendary romance dramas such as “In Need Of Romance” and “Discovery of Love,” worked together.

Director Lee Jong Jae said,

I hope this work will be as successful as ‘100 Days Of My Prince.’ The actors worked hard to film it.
I wondered if I could do well with these young friends, but fortunately, we got along really well. Everyone is so nice. I think you might be able to feel that on the screen. There are definitely interesting points in this work. There is a comedy point between Lee Tae Sun and Park Hyung Sik from time to time. ‘The Blooming Youth’ comic chemistry comes out in the drama.”

Park Hyung Sik plays the role of Lee Hwan, a lonely crown prince who knows a mysterious curse secret. He is mean, and capricious as well as has a feisty and arrogant personality. He hides his deep wounds under his cold exterior. He said,

It’s been a while since I’ve done a historical drama. When I read the script, I was drawn into it without realizing it, so I was curious about what will come next. I thought the script had power.
I chose this script because I thought it would come out as a portrait photo if director Lee Jong Jae directed it as a drama. It’s my first time wearing a crown prince’s clothes. Later, I wore the clothes until sunset.
It was new since my clothes faded as if I had lived this life.”

Jeon So Nee plays the role of Min Jae Yi, a genius girl who pursues the truth behind the false accusation of murdering her relatives. Jeon So Nee said,

Min Jae Yi goes through a lot of emotions and situations. As an actor, I naturally wanted to experience various things. Min Jae Yi knows how to take and give back help. I fell in love with her because she has this ability and knows how to be grateful. I wish I could become like her.”

Pyo Ye Jin, who is challenging her first historical drama, plays Jang Ga Ram, the only friend and reliable investigative partner of Min Jae Yi. She said,

It’s a historical drama that I really wanted to challenge someday. I wanted to do a youth historical drama, but in this way this it’s time has come. In ‘The Blooming Youth,’ I wanted to express my relationships with other characters well. I wanted to express my affectionate relationship with Min Jae Yi and my romantic chemistry with Kim Myung Jin well.

Yoon Jong Seok, who made his mark with “The Guest” and “The Crowned Clown,” met viewers as Han Sung On, Min Jae Yi’s lover, and Lee Hwan’s friend. He said,

Each character’s narrative is clear and accurate. It seems like the time is short just to follow the story of each character. I think there will be good results, so please keep an eye on this drama.”

Lee Tae Sun plays the role of Kim Myung Jin, the best oddball in Joseon who studies everything in the world. He raised viewers’ expectations, saying,

It’s strange that Kim Myung Jin puts on a finger bone. The idea itself is unique. He is a person who is faithful to his instinct and has various charms. He is serious and professional.”

“The Blooming Youth” is expected to have a solid director-writer lineup as well as actors’ chemistry that will add vitality to the struggles of young men and women. As young actors of his age, including Park Hyung Sik, Jeon So Nee, Pyo Ye Jin, Yoon Jong Seok, and Lee Tae Sun, have all gathered, they have completed “The Blooming Youth” with stronger teamwork.

Director Lee Jong Jae said,

When I first met the writer, I told him to trust me, and the writer told me to trust him. I told the actors that I would trust you, so you should trust me. There is also a line in the drama, ‘I trust you, and you can trust me.’ That’s how I got to do this drama. I did the drama with this mindset with all the actors. It was a hard but happy time.”

He expressed his gratitude and praised the five leading actors of the drama, sharing, said,

Park Hyung Sik is a good actor with whom all directors and writers in Korea should work with at least once. Jeon So Nee has a raw charm. She expressed it well and acted honestly. Pyo Ye Jin is also honest and warm-hearted.
Yoon Jong Seok is quiet on the spot, but he takes good care of people since he is a step away.
Lee Tae Sun actually had a macho temperament, so he had a hard time acting in the beginning, but he tried to come out of it while preparing a lot.
He brought out the character in himself and expressed it well.”

“The Blooming Youth” will premiere at 8:50 p.m. on February 6 (Monday).
