Netflix Responds To Rumors About “Squid Game” Season 2 And 3 Being 13 Episodes Long

Netflix’s hit series ‘Squid Game’ is rumored to be simultaneously producing Season 2 and Season 3, here is what Netflix had to say about this!

On the 16th of May, a Netflix representative stated to news outlets, “The production team of ‘Squid Game’ is fully dedicated to preparing for Season 2 in order to deliver an enjoyable experience to the fans.’ The representative added, ‘Since we are still in the early stages, specific details have not been confirmed.’

Previously, entertainment media outlet OSEN reported that ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 and Season 3 will be produced with a total of 13 episodes. The report mentioned that director Hwang Dong Hyuk, who directed and wrote the first season, will also direct both Season 2 and Season 3. It was further stated that Season 2 will begin full-scale filming in July and will feature Lee Byung Hun in addition to Lee Jung Jae.

‘Squid Game’ is a nine-part drama that depicts people participating in a mysterious survival game with a prize money of 45.6 billion won, risking their lives to become the final winner. Since its release in September 2021, it topped Netflix’s viewership rankings for 46 days and became a global sensation.

Furthermore, in a previous lecture at Stanford University, Lee Byung Hun mentioned, ‘I will return with Netflix drama ‘Squid Game 2.” Lee Jung Jae also revealed at the ‘Korea Expo’ held at Porte de Versailles in Paris on the 13th that ‘Squid Game 2’ will soon enter the filming stage.”
