The Netflix series “The Whirlwind” is coming to viewers.

On the 31st of May, Netflix confirmed the release date of “The Whirlwind” (directed by Kim Yong-wan, written by Park Kyung-soo) to be June 28th.

The teaser poster reveals the story of “The Whirlwind” which depicts the confrontation between the Prime Minister, who has decided to execute the President, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Economics, who tries to stop him and seize power. The tension between Prime Minister Park Dong-ho (played by Sol Kyung Gu), who stands face-to-face with the fallen President, and Deputy Prime Minister Jeong Soo-jin (played by Kim Hee Ae) captures attention.

The teaser trailer, released together, starts with the shocking confession of Park Dong-ho saying, “I executed the President.” Prime Minister Park Dong-ho crosses the line by executing the President for his beliefs. Determined to denounce evil, he becomes evil himself. On the other hand, Jeong Soo-jin tries to seize even more power by stopping him. The clash between two evils without a clear line between good and evil will provide viewers with a highly immersive experience with dynamic development.

“The Whirlwind” is an ambitious project by writer Park Kyung-soo, who established the political thriller genre in Korea with his ‘Power Trilogy’ 7 years ago. Taking place in the backdrop of power struggles between the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Economics over the execution of the President, “The Whirlwind” weaves a dense narrative of intense events that will be available on Netflix on June 28th.
