Namgoong Min Manages To Do The Impossible, Lifts MBC Out Of Its Slump As “My Dearest” Surpasses The Double Digits In Ratings

Namgoong Min has done it again!

According to Nielsen Korea, the August 25 episode of MBC’s newest hit “My Dearest” became its highest-rated episode recording 10.6%. This episode is now the 1st for the drama to surpass the double digits, a jump of nearly 2%.

The drama started out with ratings in the 5% range and has been steadily increasing. In the same time slot, SBS’s “The First Responders 2” remained steady with 6.2%.

With this, “My Dearest” becomes the first MBC weekend drama in some time to surpass its competition on SBS. Generally, SBS dramas dominated this time slot for quite a while. Thought to be impossible to lift out of its slump at first, the MBC weekend drama slot is seeing a resurgence with Namgoong Min at the lead.
