“Minari” Nominated For 6 Awards At The 93rd Academy Awards Making History
“Minari” has been nominated for six Oscars!
The hit film directed by Lee Isaac Chung stars Steven Yeun, Han Ye Ri, Alan Kim, Noel Kate Cho, Youn Yuh Jung, and Will Patton. It tells the story of a family from South Korea immigrants who try to start a new life in the rural America in the 1980s.
The announcement was made on March 15, “Minari” is up for Best Picture, Steven Yeun for Best Actor, Youn Yuh Jung for Best Supporting Actress, Lee Isaac Chung for Best Director, Lee Isaac Chung for Best Original Screenplay, and Emile Mosseri for Best Original Score.
“Minari” has made history as Steven Yeun became the first Asian-American actor to be nominated for the Best Actor title from the Academy Awards, while Youn Yuh Jung is the first Korean actor to receive a nomination in an acting category at the Oscars!
The movie has already been considered a strong contender for the Oscars race having won multiple awards including Best Motion Picture in a Foreign Language at the 78th Golden Globes.
The 93rd Academy Awards will be held on April 25.
