“Squid Game” Breakout Talent Lee Jung Joon will be taking over the late Lee Ji Han’s role in MBC’s new drama.
One of its actors, Lee Ji Han, was revealed to have died in the Itaewon tragedy on October 29. The deceased’s funeral was held at around 1:30 p.m. on November 1 at Myongji Hospital in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, where the mortuary was set up. Prior to his death, he was filming for his upcoming drama, he was cast as actor Lim Soo Hyang’s ex-boyfriend in the MBC drama “The Season Of KKok Du,” which is scheduled to air in 2023, and was set to make his public debut. Lim Soo Hyang had visited his mortuary and paid her respects, she also shared a heartfelt letter.
Recently, MBC revealed that they have resumed filming following mourning over Lee Ji Han’s sudden passing. They also announced that Lee Jung Joon is taking on his role.
“Season of Kkok Du” is a fantasy romance drama in which an afterlife guide, Kkok Du, who comes down to the earth every 99 years to punish humans, meets the mysteriously skilled doctor, Han Gye Jeol, and works as a visiting doctor. It shows a special romance story between the afterlife and present life. Its led by Lim Soo Hyang, Kim Jung Hyun, Dasom and more.
