Lee Je Hoon has conducted an interview after the conclusion of the hit drama “Taxi Driver 2” and expressed his excitement about the possibility of a third season of the popular drama.
He stated in an interview, “It’s an honor to be the lead actor in a season-based drama. I hope there will be more season-based dramas in Korea in the future. I’d like to see dramas that aren’t just a one-off production but rather a story that viewers can anticipate and enjoy waiting for. I have the desire for ‘Taxi Driver’ to continue on to season 3.”
On April 16th, the news of the drama’s 3rd season was confirmed via SBS. Lee Je Hoon expressed his thoughts on season 3 during an interview, stating that while the production team had confirmed season 3, he had not yet discussed his involvement with the show’s writers, directors, or fellow cast members. He added, “I don’t know if I will be a part of it. I can find a new ‘Kim Do Gi’ character since it’s possible to replace my character.”
Lee Je Hoon also praised the camaraderie among the cast and crew in the second season, and expressed the importance of the ensemble cast in making the show a success. “If we create a new story without the ‘Rainbow Taxi’ members, I think I will oppose it. I personally really want to do it, but we have to reach an agreement that works for everyone’s schedules.”
Amidst the variety of seasonal dramas coming out in Korea these days, “Taxi Driver” made a comeback to living rooms after two years. Lee Je Hoon confessed, “I had only imagined and hoped that there would be a work that would be loved for a long time in Korea, like American dramas. I envied how Han Suk YKyu sunbaenim could do it in ‘Dr. Romantic. I am honored to be the protagonist of a seasonal drama.” He also said, “I hope many seasonal dramas will come out in Korea in the future. I hope that the drama will be one that people wait for with excitement rather than just a drama that evaporates and ends with one content. I also have a desire for ‘Taxi Driver’ to continue with season 3.”
