Korean Actress Youn Yuh Jung has made history as the first-ever Korean actress to be nominated for an academy award in a supporting role.

On March 15 local time, The Academy Awards revealed the list of nominations for this year’s Oscar, and among them was the Korean actress Youn Yuh Jung. She has been nominated for best-supporting actress for her role as the grandma in “Minari.”

The movie has already won for Best Motion Picture in a Foreign Language at the 78th Golden Globes, and “Minari” and Alan Kim both grabbed trophies at the 26th Critics Choice Awards recently.

Congratulations to Youn Yuh Jung!
