Popular Actor’s Health Amid Service Revealed To Have Deteriorated Forcing Him To Transfer To Alternative Military Service
Actor Kim Woo Seok has been transferred to a social service role during his military service due to a chronic illness.
His agency announced the news on the 5th of July, they said, “Kim Woo Seok, who enlisted as an active-duty soldier in the Army in April 2023, has been diligently fulfilling his service duties. However, he developed radiculopathy caused by a lumbar disc herniation, which he had been suffering from before. Despite receiving continuous treatment while serving, his condition did not improve and worsened to the point where he could no longer perform daily activities or training. After undergoing a regulatory review process within the military, he was deemed unfit for active duty and was ultimately transferred to serve as a social service worker.”
They added, “Kim Woo Seok feels regretful for not being able to complete his military service healthily and intends to give his best for the remainder of his service period as soon as he is notified of his new assignment and reporting date. We apologize for causing concern with this sudden news. We will focus on Kim Woo Seok’s treatment and rehabilitation to ensure he can continue his acting career successfully in the future.”
Kim Woo Seok made his debut in the 2017 web drama “Love Playlist Season 2” and has appeared in dramas such as “A Piece of Your Mind,” “Police University,” “Military Prosecutor Doberman,” and more.
Kim Woo Seok enlisted as an active-duty soldier in April.
