Kim Jung Hyun may be starring in a new drama soon!

On May 13, it was reported that Kim Jung Hyun will be starring in the upcoming drama “Season of Kkok Du.” It was then clarified by his agency Story J Company that the actor indeed got the offer and is now considering it.

“Season of Kkok Du” is a fantasy medical drama that tells the story of the grim reaper Kkok Du, who goes on a vacation every 99 years. He then meets Han Gye Jeol, a female doctor who has the mysterious ability to make the grim reaper do whatever she wants.

Kim Jung Hyun was offered the role of Kkok Du, the highest-ranking grim reaper and the only one to exist in the underworld. He is a cold and cruel grim reaper who every 99 years must go to the mortal realm and spend 49 days there (As punishment for him). There he meets the female doctor who has the mysterious ability to make him her servant.

If Kim Hyun Jung accepted the role, it would be his first drama since his last one “Mr. Queen,” which was a year and a half ago.

Previously, Kim Jung Hyun was caught in a controversy involving his ex-girlfriend Seo Ye Ji, he faced severe backlash for his unprofessional behavior towards his “Time” co-star Seohyun. He ended up apologizing via a handwritten letter. A while after the controversy, it was revealed that Kim Jung Hyun has signed with a new agency called Story J Company which houses many stars including Seo In Guk, Kim Tae Hee, and more.

In late September of 2021, he issued an apology letter to Instagram. He then finally returned to Instagram for the first time since his last apology in April of this year where he updated fans on how he is doing.

Kim Jung Hyun wrapped up filming for the independent film “Se²cret” about a police detective and a group of people who confront their past secrets while investigating a mysterious murder.
