Director Jang Hang Joon has nothing but praise for actor Kang Ha Neul whom he has worked with on “Night of Memories.”
The director revealed that the actor has suffered from a severe leg injury while filming on set during a recent interview on November 24.
The actor ruptured a muscle while filming a chase scene in the pouring rain. The director said,
“I was really surprised, it was an atmosphere we couldn’t continue shooting with. But he didn’t show it and continued to film while limping saying ‘we cannot stop filming, I’ll keep trying.’”
The director added,
“I think he did it because he knew of our budget and situation.”
The director hinted that the particular scene cost a lot of the budget.
The director revealed that after the scene, Kang Ha Neul went to the hospital and found out that he had ruptured his hamstring, and had to take his military medical examination the next day. He added,
“He had used up all of his energy ahead of his military enlistment. He suffered a lot.”
Meanwhile, “Night of Memories” is a mystery thriller about a brother who loses his memory after he gets kidnapped. The younger brother tries to track down his brother’s steps and ends up doubting his own memories.
The movie is set to premiere on November 29.
