Model-actress Jung Ho Yeon shared her story of overcoming past slumps on Hyeri’s show.

Recently, Jung Ho Yeon appeared on Hyeri’s YouTube channel ‘HyeRi’s Club’ and talked about various topics.

Jung Ho Yeon reflected on the time when she skyrocketed to stardom overnight after ‘Squid Game’, saying, “At that time, I had so many thoughts. I wondered how I should handle it and if I could manage everything. I was fixated on those feelings.” She added, “When I look at it in the long run and on a larger scale, it’s just a part of my life. It’s something I can handle step by step. Now, I feel very at ease. I have no thoughts about it.”

Recalling her modeling days, she said, “For whatever reason, there are times when work inevitably slows down for freelancers. I always worked hard and wondered if I was doing something wrong. I even thought that if I couldn’t succeed despite my efforts, I might not have the talent and should quit. But I simply thought, ‘No, I really enjoy this work. I want to keep going.'”

She emphasized that “a moderate sense of competitiveness is helpful,” explaining, “I was active at the same time as my close friends Sae-on and Jin-kyung. Seeing my friends working hard beside me made me think, ‘If they can do it, so can I! I can’t lose!’ So I kept pushing myself. While I try to live centered on myself, sometimes it’s good to look around and see how others are living, make healthy comparisons, and get inspired.”

Hyeri asked Jung Ho Yeon how she felt about opening the Louis Vuitton show after ‘Squid Game’. Jung Ho Yeon responded, “After not doing the Louis Vuitton show for a few seasons, I returned after ‘Squid Game’. I don’t remember exactly, but it had been 2-3 years since I last did it, and I was very nervous. When I was a model, I did the show every season, so it felt like a job. After not walking the runway for quite a long time, doing it again after so long, and opening the show was daunting.”

She elaborated, “I had never done an opening before. Opening is different. It’s about breaking into the space. Once you start, the others follow. But if I made a mistake, everyone behind me would too. There are details like whether to walk straight or slightly to the side. To get all those details right, you have to walk precisely. It was my first time going out, and I was very scared and nervous. I usually worry a lot. I thought, ‘What if I mess up the Louis Vuitton show?’ I worried about whether I would walk too fast or too slow, or mess up the path.”
