Jo Byeong Gyu Appearance At Upcoming Variety Show Put On Hold Due To His Recent Controversy
Jo Byeong Gyu’s appearance on KBS’s variety program “Come Back Home” has been put on hold.
The actor is currently embroiled in controversy over his alleged bullying scandal. While his agency stated many times they would be taking legal action, allegations against him kept piling up, he’s also personally addressed the situation denying the allegations but it has done little to calm public backlash.
As a result, Jo Byeong Gyu’s appearance on KBS’s variety program became a topic of discussion. Due to his rising popularity, he was set to host the upcoming KBS show “Come Back Home” with Yoo Jae Suk.
On February 26, KBS staff of the variety show issued a statement regarding Jo Byeong Gyu’s appearance on the show,
“We’re doing our best to approach this issue surrounding Jo Byeong Gyu seriously. Jo Byeong Gyu is currently in the process of taking legal action against the issues. However, the legal proceedings will take some time and we’re in a position where we must decide the exact airing date and time frame of the program. As a result, we concluded that it is difficult in this current setting to push ahead with his appearance on the show, thus his appearance has been put on hold.”
KBS ended their statement wishing for the truth to be unveiled so there will be no victims.
The actor is among the many celebrities accused of being bullies amid a new movement, the list includes (G)I-DLE’s Soojin, LOONA’s Chuu, MONSTA X’s Kihyun, Sunwoo of THE BOYZ, Stray Kids Member Hyunjin, Actress Park Hye Soo, SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu and Kim Dong Hee to name a few.
