“Jirisan” Sees A Sharp Dip In Ratings Despite Stellar Start, Why?

“Jirisan” ratings have declined despite the warm reception for its premiere last week!

On October 30, “Jirisan” aired its 3rd episode. According to Nielsen Korea, “Jirisan” 3rd episode scored an average nationwide rating of 7.9%, which is a noticeable decline from last week’s premiere which scored 9.1%, and its second episode which scored 10.7%. Despite that, the drama took first place across all channels in its time slot.

But why did it happen?

Some netizens believe the drama’s ratings have declined due to the mixed reviews the premiere has received including the backlash the special effects received last week.

Meanwhile, SBS’s “One the Woman” continues to break its own records despite facing stiff competition. According to Nielsen Korea, the latest episode of “One the Woman” scored an average nationwide rating of 16.9%, a personal best for the drama. Its been steadily rising in ratings for 12 episodes.

tvN’s “Yumi’s Cells” wrapped up its run this week with 2.5% in average nationwide ratings. It remained first place in its time slot across all cable channels among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49.

OCN’s new mystery thriller “Chimera” premiered to an average nationwide rating of 0.8% while JTBC’s “Inspector Koo” scored 2.6%.
