Jang Dong Yoon, Seol In Ah, and Choo Young Woo To Lead KBS’s Upcoming Drama “Oasis”
Actors Jang Dong Yoon, Seol In Ah, and Choo Young Woo have confirmed to star in KBS’s new drama “Oasis.”
On August 31, KBS 2TV’s new drama “Oasis”, which is scheduled to air in the first half of 2023, said, “Jang Dong Yoon, Seol In Ah, and Choo Young Woo have been cast in the roles of Lee Doo Hak, Oh Jung Shin, and Choi Chul Woong, respectively.”
“Oasis” is a melodrama about three youngsters who fiercely threw themselves to protect their own dreams, friendships, and first love, which is only once in their lives, against the backdrop of a turbulent Korea that is between the 1980s to the 1990s.
Actor Jang Dong Yoon plays Lee Doo Hak who is poor but intelligent and has a pure soul more than anyone else. He is a person of pure love who falls in love at first sight and falls in fateful love after seeing “Oh Jung Shin” who transferred from Seoul. It expresses the hot youth facing a turbulent life faced after being caught up in an unexpected event.
Jang Dong Yoon has expanded his acting spectrum and is performing across dramas and movies with various genres such as “School 2017,” The Tale of Nokdu,” and “Search.” The recent film “Project Wolf Hunting” has been officially invited to the 47th Toronto International Film Festival and the 55th International Fantastic Film Festival, drawing keen attention to his future moves.
Seol In Ah plays Oh Jung Shin, who has the strength to fight against injustice and chase her dreams with her honest and confident personality. As an only daughter after transferring from Seoul, she makes unforgettable memories of her school days by forming a strong friendship and fresh love with Lee Doo Hak and Choi Chul Woong.
Expectations are high on what kind of charm Seol In Ah, who perfectly plays a bold and lovely character in “Business Proposal,” will show through the character of “Oh Jung Shin” in “Oasis.” In addition, Jang Dong Yoon will be reunited with the KBS drama about five years after “School 2017,” giving a foreboding of the two’s “guaranteed chemistry.”
Newcomer Choo Young Woo plays Choi Chul Woong, a friend, and rival who grew up with Lee Doo Hak since childhood. He is an elite who never misses being at the top of the school scores. He has everything, but he shows his heart that is shaken due to not winning the heart of a single girl.

Meanwhile, “Oasis” will begin filming in September after completing the script reading and will be broadcast on KBS 2TV in the first half of 2023.
