“Flowers Bloom Even in the Sand” has completed a pleasant and exciting youth cast such as Jang Dong Yoon, Lee Joo Myeong, Yoon Jong Seok, Kim Bo Ra, Lee Jae Jun, and Lee Ju Seung.

The new drama “Flowers Bloom Even in the Sand” is a romantic comedy about the reunion of former wrestling prodigy Kim Baek Du (played by Jang Dong Yoon) and youthful alley leader Oh Yoo Kyung (played by Lee Joo Myung), who are living a life as messy as dry sand. Against the background of Geosan, a wrestling city, the story of young people struggling to bloom flowers on a sandy beach creates excitement in pleasant laughter.

Along with Netflix’s “Model Family”, which gathered attention last year, “Queen of Mystery”, and “Suits”, director Kim Jin Woo, who showed sensuous directing through “Love Alarm Season 2”, and writer Won Yoo Jung, who has novel writing skills, have teamed up. In particular, attention is focused on the fact that it is the first romantic comedy based on wrestling. In addition, Ace, which has released a number of topical works that combine cinematic quality and popularity, such as “Extraordinary Lawyer Woo Young Woo”, “Big Mouth”, “Kingdom Seasons 1 and 2”, “100 Days My Prince”, and ‘Signal’, takes over the production and adds to expectations.

Above all, expectations are high for the synergy of young actors with both acting skills and individuality. Jang Dong Yoon transforms into Kim Baek Du, a trained wrestler belonging to the Geosan-gun Office Wrestling Team, which is on the verge of dissolution. Born as the youngest son of a famous wrestling family, he was called a prodigy who would become a wrestling star early on due to his outstanding skills. In the crisis of his retirement, he reunites with Oh Yoo Kyung and meets a turning point in his wrestling life. It stimulates anticipation of how Jang Dong Yoon, who has undergone ever-changing transformations in various works, will create the character of Kim Baek Du.

Lee Joo Myung plays the role of Oh Yoo Kyung, a talented player from the national academy, who has won the hearts of various sports coaches with her innate athleticism and boiling desire to compete. Oh Yoo Kyung, who came down to Geosan as the manager of the wrestling troupe at Geosan-gun Office, right before their disbandment, meets Kim Baek Du, who is not only good-looking but also somewhat sloppy. Oh Yoo Kyung is curious about what kind of relationship she will make with Kim Baek Du, who makes her worry about her retirement. Expectations are focused on the synergy of Jang Dong Yoon and Lee Joo Myung, who will bloom in the lives of two youths like a messy sandboard.

Yun Jong Seok plays the role of Min Hyun Wook, who appeared in Geosan at the same time as Oh Yoo Kyung. Min Hyun Wook is a boy full of prestige to the core who has lived his whole life without lacking. However, to his surprise, he adapts to Geosan faster than anyone else and naturally melts into the Geosan Market merchants. Expectations are high for the acting transformation of Yoon Jong Seok, who snatched hearts with his charm’ in the recently ended “Our Blooming Youth”.

Kim Bo Ra plays the role of Joo Mi Ran, the owner of a mysterious cafe that suddenly appeared in Geosan one day. She penetrates the opponent’s heart with her irresistible charm. Kim Bo Ra, who has a wide acting spectrum, maximizes the charm of Joo Mi Ran, who has a strange secret.

Lee Jae Joon plays Kim Baek Du’s long-time rival, Kwak Jin Soo, a former wrestler. He spent his childhood hidden in the shadow of wrestling prodigy Kim Baek Du, but the relationship was reversed and he became an ace who won the Halla title a total of 4 times. Kwak Jin Soo, who has only taken elite courses as a wrestler, suddenly refuses the position of coach of the top wrestling team and returns to the Geosan-gun Office wrestling club with Kim Baek Du. Expectations are high for Lee Jae Joon, who has solid acting skills.

Lee Ju Seung plays Kim Baek Du’s best friend and a police officer at Geosan Police Station, Cho Seok Hee. Taking care of the chores of a peaceful mountain in a world without incidents, he grumbles, saying, ‘I’m not the one to catch a runaway,’ but is more passionate about the village than anyone else. He faces a dynamic change due to Oh Yoo Kyung, who appears along with a suspicious incident. Attention is also focused on the performance of Jang Dong Yoon and Lee Ju Seung, who will show off a pro-chemistry.

The production team of “Flowers Bloom Even in the Sand” said, “The romantic comedy based on wrestling will create a different excitement,” adding, “Please look forward to the exciting and pleasant synergy of young actors who will bloom on the sand.”

“Flowers Bloom Even in the Sand” is scheduled to air in the second half of 2023.
