IU Steps Down From Highly Anticipated Upcoming Drama “Money Game,” Chun Woo Hee Cast In Her Role

IU has unfortunately stepped down from the upcoming drama “Money Game”!

On May 27, Studio N officially announced the news. IU has left the cast due to scheduling conflicts. The drama is led by some of the biggest names in the industry including Ryu Jun YeolIUPark Jung Min, Park Hae Joon, and Bae Sung Woo.

It was also announced that with IU stepping down, actress Chun Woo Hee is taking on her role.

“Money Game” will be an eight-episode series based on webtoon writer Bae Jin Soo’s two works “Money Game” and “Pie Game.” In the story, money builds as time passes. The drama shall explore the events that unfold with 8 participants who are placed in extreme circumstances where they are exiled from society. The participants cooperate and betray each other repeatedly since the game can only end when someone dies.

Director Han Jae Rim, who worked on “The Face Reader” and the upcoming film “Emergency Declaration,” will be in charge of writing the script and directing.

“Money Game” will be produced by Studio N, which previously produced “Sweet Home,” “Our Beloved Summer,” and “Yumi’s Cells”

“Money Game” is scheduled to begin filming in mid-June.
