Which one of these dramas are you currently watching?
My Personal Thoughts
“Backstreet Rookie” is not moving fast enough for me, I don’t know if I’ll continue watching. The romance is taking forever to start and we’re done with episode 12, of course, we saw progress this episode but still, the plot isn’t going anywhere fast enough and I am disappointed.
I really hope that next time, Wookie picks an interesting project that isn’t a rom-com, a medical drama or a crime drama would be nice. He says he doesn’t want to be type-cast but he’s doing just that. I hope he actually tries to get out of his comfort zone for his next project.
I wouldn’t say “Backstreet Rookie” flopped because getting 7 and 8% on public channels is a struggle these days but expectations were higher. The source material was controversial but I think SBS expected it to do better.
tvN “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” is so much fun to watch. I loved the 11th episode and continue to enjoy the actors’ performances. I still don’t know how to feel about the psychological treatment aspect of it because I still think its lacking but I am enjoying my time. I wish there was more focus on that part since the drama deals with it.
JTBC’s “Graceful Friends” is about middle-aged men and that’s not really my cup of tea. I don’t find any of their characters tolerable enough to watch a drama of them. All of them just get on my nerves in the worst way possible. The drama is trying to be the next “SKY Castle” but it won’t become that at this rate. The editing is choppy and the sequencing of events is also all over the place. It had a chance but it blew it. It’ll probably continue to hover around that mark.
OCN “Train” is so underrated it’s annoying me. The drama is interesting and one of the better OCN dramas this year-thus far. It doesn’t deserve 1%.
