Hook Entertainment Denies Allegations Over Lee Seung Gi’s Settlement Of Music Profits Earnings
Hook Entertainment has finally addressed the controversy over the recent conflict between the agency and Lee Seung Gi’s settlement of music fees and singer Lee Sun Hee‘s management-profit distribution.
Hook Entertainment announced its position on November 25 that when Lee Seung Gi nearly completed his exclusive contract in 2021, at that time he signed the exclusive contract with them again after checking the settlement details of that time period in an agreement to confirm the financial bond debt relationship with them and also explained the allegations of the relevance of singer Lee Sun Hee mentioned in some media regarding Lee Seung Gi’s alleged settlement issue.

“First of all, we apologize to many people for the unpleasant news that stretches and circulates every day and the current issue with Lee Seung Gi and we apologize to Lee Seung Gi, who is having a hard time.
We apologize to those who were hurt by CEO Kwon Jin Young’s wrong words and actions.
We regret that the media is reporting facts that have not been accurately confirmed in the process of securing and organizing accurate data.
Hook Entertainment and when Lee Seung Gi nearly completed his exclusive contract in 2021, at that time he signed the exclusive contract with us again after checking the settlement details of that time period in an agreement to confirm the financial bond debt relationship with us.
Nevertheless, following Lee Seung Gi’s issue, Hook Entertainment is closely reviewing the settlement of profits of a considerable amount paid to Lee Seung Gi by Hook Entertainment with experts.
We deny the claims saying that the contract between Lee Seung Gi and his agency (such as the profit share ratio) was recently announced through a media outlet and that Hook Entertainment never paid for Lee Seung Gi’s music.
We are currently going to organize the settlement clearly and correct them and take responsibility for it. As a celebrity management company that has to maintain relationships with celebrities based on faith and trust, we are sorry once again.
Lee Sun Hee was nominally listed as a director for courtesy because she was an artist under Hook Entertainment from the beginning, but Hook Entertainment is a company run by one individual where CEO Kwon Jin Young owns 100% of the shares from 2006 to 2021, and Lee Sun Hee was not involved in the company’s management or profit distribution.
We will not condone the act of defaming and hurting the celebrity due to speculation in this regard, but will strongly take legal action through legal representatives.”
Earlier, Lee Seung Gi demanded for a proof of contents from his agency through the law firm Pacific Ocean on November 17, saying that he had not properly received the proceeds of his music for over 18 years when he signed an exclusive contract with Hook Entertainment. Earlier, Hook Entertainment was in the middle of controversy after being raided by the National Police Agency.
Hook Entertainment then announced in an official release on November 18, “We received content certification of content from Lee Seung Gi and are reviewing related data accordingly and preparing an answer. We will try to wrap up the problem smoothly without misunderstanding between the two sides.”
In addition, Kwon Jin Young, CEO of Hook Entertainment, said on November 21, “If Hook Entertainment or any individual is clearly confirmed to be legally responsible, we will not back down or avoid it. We will be more careful not to cause any more concern to everyone.”
However, on November 23, Dispatch released an audio recording of the conversation between CEO Kwon, the director of Hook Entertainment, and the manager of Lee Seung Gi at a meeting on November 17, which caused a stir.
In the alleged audio recording, which was recorded by Lee Seung Gi’s manager, CEO Kwon said, “Now with the mindset of let’s just go for it you are asking for the certification of contents to me. I’m going to put my name on the line and kill you. I’ll spend the rest of my life aiming only at killing Lee Seung Gi. I’ll really kill him. That Mother f@cker. I swear.”
Meanwhile, despite these controversies, Lee Seung Gi will participate in the recording of season 2 of the movie “The Great Family” and the SBS entertainment show “All The Butlers” as scheduled. In particular, he recently shaved his head to film “The Great Family.”
