tvN’s new drama “Flower Of Evil” has failed to do better in ratings with its second episode.
On July 30, “Flower Of Evil” aired its second episode. According to Nielsen Korea, the second episode scored average rating of 2.9%, a noticeable decline from its first episode which scored 3.4%.
tvN has been heavily marketing “Flower Of Evil” and fans were super excited about the drama premiere, many wonder why the drama’s second episode didn’t do better.
Meanwhile, KBS “Into The Ring” scored 2.3%, MBC’s “Chip In” scored 2.4% and 2.8%. Lastly, JTBC “Was It Love” scored 2%.

My Personal Thoughts
My review of “Flower Of Evil” episode one and two is getting released in a couple of hours, but I am curious why it didn’t do better. The drama premise is very interesting and definitely one of the better dramas airing Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Generally speaking, Wednesday-Thursday dramas have been struggling across the board in 2020, whether it is a public or a cable channel, they’re all struggling to even surpass the 5% mark.
I heard great thing about “Chip In” and I am planning to check it out, KBS “Into The Ring” is getting boring, I am not interested in politics in general, and the topic is not captivating at all… even tho I think Nana and Park Sung Hoon have amazing chemistry. The drama isn’t bad at all but it’s not my cup of tea. I think the two actors chemistry is definitely what’s keeping most viewers tuned in.
“Was It Love” is ridiculous to say the least and honestly, I am not interested in seeing unrealistic rom-com featuring 4 male leads all magically fall in love with one woman at the same time, this idea has been executed way too many times and I fail to see how “Was It Love” stands out from the pile of similar dramas. The fact that a drama with a script like “Was It Love” is still getting made is very…. interesting….
If you’ve been keeping up with Korean audience preference and how it changed across the years, then you’d notice such types of scripts don’t generate the same buzz they used to, in fact, they’ve been doing progressively worse. The fact that directors, writers and actors still sign on to the same basic script idea is baffling to me.
