Moon Ji Won, the writer of the ENA drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” explained the love line between lawyer Kwon Min Woo played by Ju Jong Hyuk, and Soo Yeon Choi played by Ha Yoon Kyung, who got backlash from some viewers.

In an interview with Cine 21 on September 1, writer Moon Ji Won of the ENA drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” revealed why the character Soo Yeon Choi in the drama was set it to be liked by Kwon Min Woo.

In an interview with the media, writer Moon Ji Won said,

“If you look around, you often see a really flawless and perfect friend having a strange crazy relationship and heartache. Soo Yeon has many positive sides which is why her relationship is shown as in vain.”

Expressing her apology to the viewers regarding the sudden relationship development of Kwon Min Woo and Soo Yeon Choi, the writer said,

“I couldn’t make this development convincing enough. I should have been much more careful when there was a big change in the subplot. I think there were many people who felt that the development was a ‘sudden curve’ because I don’t have much experience as a writer yet.”

About the reason behind the big character development of Kwon Min Woo at the end, who has been portrayed as the only antagonist character throughout the drama, She explained,

“Everyone in the drama is getting heartwarming ending except for Kwon Min Woo ending as a “Minor villain” which felt very disconcerting so I tried to show Kwon Min Woo’s side where he chose to be realistic when he felt romantic feelings toward Soo Yeon Choi and expressed them because he wanted to be a better person than before.”

In the 15th episode of the ENA drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” which aired on August 17, Woo Young Woo played by Park Eun Bin, who was in charge of the case with lawyer Jang Seung Joon played by Choi Dae Hoon, was excluded from the case for unfair reasons, and Kwon Min Woo and Soo Yeon Choi were fighting over it.

The ENA drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” which ended on August 18, is a drama about the survival of a large law firm of Woo Young Woo, a new lawyer who is a genius and has an autism spectrum at the same time.

During the debate, Soo Yeon Choi confessed to Kwon Min Woo that she liked him, tilting the viewers’ heads down. Some viewers pointed out that the love line is very unlikely, calling it a “sudden romance.”

  1. I agree with the writer – it actually happens quite often when your perfect friend ( or yourself) always falls for the wrong guy. So personally I found that relationship very credible. So I would have beed satisfied if they actually got together. But what would have been even more hilarious is if Geurami, Young Woo’s friend become Min Woo’s girlfriend. She would have made him into a better person for sure)).
