Director Park Chan Wook’s “Decision to Leave” has been nominated as a preliminary nominee for the International Feature Film Award at the 95th Academy Awards.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) announced the shortlist (preliminary nominations) for the 95th Academy Awards on December 21st (local time).
“Decision to Leave” has been nominated as a candidate for the International Feature Film Award along with a total of 15 films, including Germany’s “The Western Front Is All Right”, Argentina’s “Argentina, 1985”, Mexico’s “Bardo, A False Chronicle Mixed with a Bit of Truth”, and Denmark’s “The Holy Spider”. The final candidates will be announced on January 24 next year.
“Decision to Leave” is a story about detective Hae Jun (Park Hae Il), who is investigating a sudden death in the mountains, meets Seo Rae (Tang Wei), the wife of the deceased, and feels both suspicion and interest at the same time.
“Decision to Leave”’ won the Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival held in May.
The 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 12 next year at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
