Famous Korean actress Choi Ji Woo shares her honest thoughts on late childbirth.

On the 27th of May, actress Choi Ji Woo appeared on Shin Dong Yeop YouTube channel.

That day, Choi Ji Woo talked about raising her 48-month-old daughter. When asked if she missed her daughter, Choi Ji Woo responded with joy, saying, “Didn’t you raise a child? No~ Yahoo!” and expressed her relief from parenting.

To Choi Ji Woo, who gave birth at the age of 46, Shin Dong Yeop compared her to Kim Yong Gun. He praised her, saying, “Men can continue to have offspring until the age of 89-90, but it’s not easy for women to give birth in their mid-40s.”

Choi Ji Woo described herself as an icon of late childbirth and said, “I also tried to have a child at this age, and I can have a healthy child.” She talked about the difficulties of being a late bloomer parent, saying, “It’s not easy to hang out with people born in 1990, but I can’t pretend to be struggling. I will actively go to newly opened kids’ cafes.”

Choi Ji Woo said, “I made a lot of effort to hang out with younger parents.” She expressed her apologies for relying on others due to lack of information, saying, “I feel sorry when I only receive help.”

Choi Ji Woo had a long hiatus from preparing for pregnancy to giving birth. She said, “The hiatus became longer because I couldn’t get pregnant quickly. There were moments when I felt discouraged, but watching those who were active during the same period comforted and cheered me up. There were things I had to let go of.”

She mentioned that she has changed a lot before and after giving birth. She said, “I thought I had to be a role-model parent and accumulate good deeds. I have become slightly more mature. I think Choi Ji Woo has become a better person.”

In the past, she said she was selfish and didn’t give or want to receive from others. She revealed, “Now, I also take care of people around me and grow together with my child,” revealing the positive aspects of parenting.
