Despite initial setbacks, the Netflix series “Bloodhounds” has been released!

The press conference for the new Netflix series “Bloodhounds” was held recently, the main actors as well as the director gathered to discuss various aspects of the work.

Particular attention was drawn to the screen time of Kim Sae Ron. Originally, Kim Sae Ron played the role of Hyun-joo, who was set to succeed Chairman Choi (played by Heo Joon Ho), known as a legend in the loan shark industry. However, due to a drunk driving accident, most of Kim Sae Ron’s scenes were deleted from the series.

“Bloodhounds” initially revolved around Woo Do Hwan, Lee Sang Yi, and Kim Sae Ron. With her departure, the description of the series was revised to “a story of two young men entangled in the world of loan sharks, where money takes precedence over human life, fighting against a massive evil force.”

Kim Sae Ron previously faced a halt in her activities after being involved in a drunk driving incident near Hakdong Intersection in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on May 18 last year. With this, “Bloodhounds” seemed to be in turmoil. It is not an easy task to recast a role in a work that is almost complete in terms of filming. In the end, “Bloodhounds” decided to edit the series, leaving only the minimum amount of Kim Sae Ron’s scenes.

Concerns arose that the flow of the series would change significantly, but in the previously released portions, Kim Sae Ron’s presence was difficult to find. The first part of the series focused on the process of the innocent and naive Geon-woo (played by Woo Do Hwan) meeting Woo-jin (played by Lee Sang Yi) and forming a relationship, as well as Geon-woo falling into the abyss of loan sharks.

Director Kim Joo-hwan stated that they made efforts not to compromise the integrity of the story. Director Kim referred to “Bloodhounds” as a “paradise of bromance, where all possible bromance elements were included.”
