My Personal Thoughts

I can’t believe it, finally, YG confirms Jisoo’s acting project. She is one of my fav members of BLACKPINK.

I remember seeing Jisoo in “The Producers,” a long time ago, back then; I didn’t know she was going to debut in BLACKPINK. I thought she was okay for her small role.

I haven’t seen how capable she is as an actress yet so I am slightly skeptic about this but I hope to god she is taking/took acting lessons, leading a drama isn’t easy at all and starting with a leading role is another level of difficulty.

Since I’ve been a kdrama fan for a while I’ve come to learn that casting a popular idol in a drama doesn’t always guarantee success in South Korea, overseas, fans will follow the drama but if the drama isn’t good or the acting isn’t good, Koreans usually don’t tolerate it or sugarcoat it. If the competition is stiff, it can also fall behind. A good example would be BTS V in “Hwarang.” The drama didn’t do well at all and I think it’s one of Park Seo Joon’s lowest rated dramas to date, if not the lowest.

But I also have faith in Yoo Hyun Mi and director by Jo Hyun Tak, I highly doubt they’d cast a popular idol just because they are popular, I bet many want to be part of their upcoming drama. “SKY Castle” is one of my fav kdramas of all time and I am so excited they’re joining hands together. I am now curious about who the male lead will be, and I hope it airs on JTBC, they make great dramas.
