American TV Host Jon Miller is under heavy scrutiny for tweeting something that is being described as ‘racist’ and ‘xenophobic.’

Last night was a historic night for Koreans and the Korean cinema. Director Bong Joon Ho and his film “Parasite” walked away with four awards at the Oscars including the biggest of the night, “Best Picture.”

During the award ceremony, Jon Miller saw Director Bong Joon Ho accept an award and speak Korean on TV and he apparently thinks that’s not okay.

He tweeted,

“A man named Bong Joon Ho wins Oscar for best original screenplay over Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and 1917.

Acceptance speech was: “GREAT HONOR. THANK YOU.” Then he proceeds to give the rest of his speech in Korean. These people are the destruction of America.”

His tweet went viral and infuriated about just everyone on twitterverse. So many people criticized him for his racist remarks and for coming after Director Bong Joon Ho who chose to speak in his own native language (he was accompanied by an interpreter who translated everything to English during his speeches).

So many people saw the tweet including celebrities who stood up to defend Director Bong Joon Ho and the film from his racist tweet, John Legend wrote,

After receiving immense backlash for his tweet, he attempted to clarify what he meant with ‘These people,’ he wrote,

“These people” are obviously not Koreans but those in Hollywood awarding a foreign film that stokes flames of class warfare over 2 films I thought were more deserving simply to show how woke they are. That should be clear from the rest of what I tweeted about tonight’s production.”

As you’d expect that didn’t make things any better for him, many people continued to criticize him for his tweet.

As they say, with great success comes a whole lot of jealous people. Congratulations to “Parasite” again on making history last night at the Oscars.

What do you think of what he said?
