Outrage is growing toward a sasaeng [obsessive so-called fan] who indiscriminately spread private information about actor Song Jae Rim. After news of Song Jae Rim’s death became known and criticism emerged, this sasaeng fan deleted their account.

When the news of Song Jae Rim’s death on the 12th of November became known, posts by a sasaeng who had harassed him up until recently also resurfaced. This sasaeng, reportedly Japanese, had shared photos of Song Jae Rim and his acquaintances, mocking him.

On social networking service X/Twitter, this sasaeng posted photos of Song Jae Rim and his acquaintances with captions like, ‘Has the gift fans gave now become a tribute to ○○?’ and ‘Can you hide that vile nature with your acting skills?’ These posts were direct attacks on Song Jae Rim and his acquaintances.

This sasaeng continuously spread various private posts not only about Song Jae Rim but also about his acquaintances, drawing criticism from Song Jae Rim’s fans even at that time.

Following Song Jae Rim’s death, anger toward this sasaeng intensified. Eventually, the sasaeng deleted their X account. There are also calls to punish this sasaeng. It has not been confirmed whether this sasaeng was directly connected to Song Jae Rim’s death.

According to the police, Song Jae Rim was found dead at his home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, around 12:30 PM on the 12th. It is reported that an acquaintance who had a lunch appointment with him visited his home, discovered him, and reported it to the police.

The police stated, ‘No criminal suspicions, such as murder, have been identified so far,’ adding, ‘Based on the discovery of a note at the scene, it is presumed that he took his own life.’

Song Jae Rim’s funeral is being held at Yeouido St. Mary’s Hospital funeral hall, with the funeral ceremony scheduled for noon on the 14th.

The last post on Song Jae Rim’s Instagram was 41 weeks ago. His profile contains the phrase, ‘The start of a long journey.’

As news of Song Jae Rim’s sudden death spread, a wave of mourning continues from the public and in the entertainment industry. Celebrities such as Yoo Sun, Hong Seok Cheon, Park Ho San, and Kim Min Kyo have posted messages expressing sorrow over his death.

Born in 1985, Song Jae Rim started his career as a model and debuted as an actor in the 2009 film ‘Actresses.’ He became known to the public in the 2012 MBC drama ‘The Moon Embracing the Sun.’ He appeared in various works across dramas and films, including ‘Inspiring Generation,’ ‘Two Weeks,’ ‘Unkind Women,’ ‘Our Gab Soon,’ ‘Yaksha,’ and ‘The Bait.’

Song Jae Rim’s most recent work was the TVING drama Queen Woo, released in August.
