Actor Ji Soo has broken his silence for the first time since his apology for the bullying accusations made against him, he also addressed the false sexual violence allegations and promised to continue to fight to prove the truth.
On May 27, he posted to Instagram, he said,
“Hello, this is Ji Soo.
Since I expressed my feelings through my last post, I have had time to reflect on my life from childhood until now. I am truly sorry for hurting not only those who were hurt by my wrong behavior in middle school 15 years ago, but also to the many people who trusted and supported me as an actor.
About two months ago, numerous posts and comments raising suspicions about me were posted on anonymous community sites, and many media reports, including the first post, included exaggerated, distorted stories and obvious false information. In order not to harm the people who were hurt and the work I was appearing in, I immediately posted an apology without any excuses, and I sincerely apologized to those who contacted me and received forgiveness.
Some of the false posts as above were false comments that I committed sexual assault, and when these posts became an issue, the person who posted them contacted me first, apologized for the fact that they were not true and that the wrong content became an issue and asked me to correct it and deleted his comments.
But there were still a lot of posts left in many anonymous online communities, including false facts, and some saying that I coerced sexual behavior on same-sex people or that I watched sex videos with other people.
He also deleted the comments and went into hiding after making an issue of obvious false information such as me having watched sex videos with others. I have had time to focus on reflecting on my past with the belief that the truth will someday be revealed, but I decided to inevitably take legal action against false facts as if they were true while silently reflecting on my actions.”
Ji Soo revealed he plans on taking legal action to reveal the truth before its too late, adding,
“I was aware of the fact that the posts were false right after they were posted, but I didn’t want to burden the drama that was airing at the time due to the controversy about me, so I filed the lawsuit after the drama ended.”
Ji Soo ends his statement by revealing investigations are currently underway against the ones who spread false rumors about him. He also promised to continue to actively take legal action against those who spread false information, he wrapped up the statement with an apology again, he said,
“However, apart from the legal response, I will continue to reflect on my past action and strive to become a better person. I would like to apologize once again for causing concern to many people because of my actions.”
Two months ago, actor Ji Soo was among the accused of being a perpetrator of school violence in middle school. Among the accusations were also talks about him allegedly committing sexual violence with coercion, fans were shocked as the accusations were among the most severe bullying accusations reported at the time.
The actor soon released a statement acknowledging his mistakes and stated he’ll reflect. He admitted to the accusations made against him but there were so many fans who were unsure what accusations he was referring to.
Subsequently, KeyEast denied the sexual violence accusations but stated he admits to having been the perpetrator of school violence.
On May 27, KeyEast announced they’ve terminated their contract with the actor and on the same day, his legal representative [law firm Shin & Kim] released a statement to announce they will be taking strict legal action against the sexual violence accusations.
