2PM’s Lee Junho has made history at the prestigious award show The 58th Baeksang Arts Awards.

Considered the biggest award show for dramas and movies, The 58th Baeksang Arts Awards was held earlier today at KINTEX (Korea International Exhibition Center) in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. The award ceremony was broadcast live on JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4. You can check out the full list of winners here.

Among the most prestigious awards for the night is the ‘best actor’ award and it ended up going to none other than 2PM’s Lee Junho who made history with his win.

2PM’s Lee Junho was up against some of the biggest names in the industry such as Jung Hae In (D.P.), Kim Nam Gil (Through the Darkness), Im Siwan (Tracer), and Lee Jung Jae (Squid Game).

2PM’s Lee Junho has become the first-ever kpop idol to take home the ‘Best Actor’ award for his performance as the king in the hit drama “The Red Sleeve.”

In his speech, Junho choked while speaking about how stunned he was to learn he has won the award. He also promised fans he will do even better in the future.

Junho also took home another award, the Tiktok popularity award.

Congratulations to Junho!

My personal thoughts- written by Jass K.

Wow! I am a bit surprised by the win but also I kinda saw it coming.

This year, the category was obviously extremely competitive, I couldn’t even possibly tell you who my favorite performance among the nominees was. Its just so difficult to pick just one because they all did so well.

Initially, I was expecting Lee Jung Jae to win the award or Jung Hae In. Then Junho kept popping up in my mind. Lee Jung Jae has even won international awards breaking records prior to that. If I try to compare the performances, I think they all were on the same level. Junho really gave his best performance in a drama to date in “The Red Sleeve.” He deserved it.

He’s truly the best male idol actor in my opinion, they must have thought of his performance so highly that he won such an award, they’re known for being very strict.

Generally speaking, I don’t ever find myself disagreeing with their picks, I feel they actually award those who deserve it opposed to awarding whats popular, can’t say the same about other awards.

  1. For me jung haein and Junho were competition. I kinda liked Haein more in DP. But junho was also good. Also this was red sleeves only award at Baeksang comparing to DP which won most…so they they didn’t give it to an ott actor, me thinks. It was fair tho. Haein or junho, both were amazing. But i hope they don’t rob haein next time as he has again, huge ott projects only. He is going global.
