TVING’s highly anticipated upcoming drama “Island” has unveiled its first script reading photos confirming the premiere date.
On November 29, TVING released the first script reading photos of the main cast Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo, and Sung Joon of their upcoming drama “Island.”
“Island” is a fantasy action drama based on writers Yoon In Wan and Yang Kyung Il’s popular cartoon, and tells the story of the journey of characters who are destined to fight against evil which tries to destroy the world. It will reinterpret the legends and tales of the beautiful Jeju Island in a modern way
At the script reading site, the actors’ passion and chemistry shone from the first meeting.
Kim Nam Gil plays the role of Ban, who confronts evil that wants to end the world on the Island but is raised as a tragic person who cannot fit in with humans, showed a strong presence with his first line and led the atmosphere of the scene by unraveling the fate of fighting against evil.
Lee Da Hee, who plays Won Mi Ho, a third-generation chaebol and a teacher. Won Mi Ho lives an unwanted life unconsciously as a fixed-term teacher on Jeju Island without knowing her true fate showed her charms.
Cha Eun Woo, who plays Yo Han, a hip Catholic priest, continued his lines and boasted a perfect chemistry with the actors.
From his hairstyle, Sung Joon transformed into Gung Tan in the original drama. Park Geun Hyung, Jeon Guk Hwan, Kim Ki Cheon, and Oh Kwang Rok took the center of the drama with experienced acting, while luxury supporting actors such as Kang Hyun Joong, Geum Kwang an, and Kim Jin Man breathed life into the site with their bouncy energy. In addition, Park Seo Kyung, Kim Seo Joon, and Kim Min Joon raised expectations for “Island” with their amazing acting skills that are not childish.
Director Bae Jong said, “It’s an unbelievable fantasy genre drama, but I hope this work will be a good inspiration, emotion, and a new breath for many people.”
The drama will be released on December 30.
