Singer and actor Lee Seung Gi is expected to examine whether his agency Hook Entertainment has been transparent in the sales and settlement of not only his music earrings but also the overall entertainment activities he has done so far.

On November 24, Lee Seung Gi’s legal representative who is under Pacific Law Firm released an official statement to news outlets to further explain the current situation. He wrote,

In addition to the settlement of music earnings, we will conduct a close review of the legal relationship between Hook Entertainment and CEO Kwon Jin Young.
We asked Hook Entertainment to transparently disclose the sales and settlement details of Lee Seung Gi’s entertainment activities through several certifications of content.
We are expecting to receive a sincere reply from Hook Entertainment. Lee Seung Gi has been with Hook f Entertainment for 18 years since his debut, and he has completely trusted and followed Hook Entertainment in terms of entertainment activities and settlement of his earnings.
Because Hook Entertainment has not even mentioned any music profits, he has not even known whether music profits were generated.
In the meantime, Lee Seung Gi saw a text message sent by an employee of Hook Entertainment which was sent to him by mistake, and became aware of the generation of his music revenue.
Lee Seung Gi asked for accounting details several times, but he only heard insulting and threatening remarks from the CEO of his agency, such as ‘You are a minus singer’.
We decided that the relationship based on the trust of Lee Seung Gi with Hook Entertainment and CEO Kwon Jin Young, who has been relying on each other for a long time, regardless of the issue of settlement of music profits, could not continue further.
We are grateful and apologetic to those who support Lee Seung Gi and pay a lot of attention to this issue. Lee Seung Gi will do his best not to let this issue interfere with his work in the future.”

Earlier, Lee Seung Gi demanded for a proof of contents from his agency through the law firm Pacific Ocean on November 17, saying that he had not properly received the proceeds of his music for over 18 years when he signed an exclusive contract with Hook Entertainment. Earlier, Hook Entertainment was in the middle of controversy after being raided by the National Police Agency.

Hook Entertainment then announced in an official release on November 18, “We received content certification of content from Lee Seung Gi and are reviewing related data accordingly and preparing an answer. We will try to wrap up the problem smoothly without misunderstanding between the two sides.”

In addition, Kwon Jin Young, CEO of Hook Entertainment, said on November 21, “If Hook Entertainment or any individual is clearly confirmed to be legally responsible, we will not back down or avoid it. We will be more careful not to cause any more concern to everyone.”

However, on November 23, Dispatch released an audio recording of the conversation between CEO Kwon, the director of Hook Entertainment, and the manager of Lee Seung Gi at a meeting on November 17, which caused a stir.

In the alleged audio recording, which was recorded by Lee Seung Gi’s manager, CEO Kwon said,

“Now with the mindset of let’s just go for it you are asking for the certification of contents to me. I’m going to put my name on the line and kill you. I’ll spend the rest of my life aiming only at killing Lee Seung Gi. I’ll really kill him. That Mother f@cker. I swear.”

Dispatch also revealed Lee Seung Gi’s manager’s testimony along with the voice recording.

Meanwhile, despite these controversies, Lee Seung Gi will participate in the recording of season 2 of the movie “The Great Family” and the SBS entertainment show “All The Butlers” as scheduled. In particular, he recently shaved his head to film “The Great Family.”
