TWICE Cancels 7th Debut Anniversary Fan Meeting In Wake Of Itaewon Mourning Period

TWICE has canceled its upcoming fan meeting!

On October 31, JYP Entertainment issued a statement to announce the fan meeting has been canceled. Originally, the event was scheduled to celebrate the group’s 7th anniversary.

“’TWICE FANMEETING ONCE HALLOWEEN 3” was originally scheduled to take place on November 5. The event was also heavily themed around Halloween.

This is JYP Entertainment.

We inform you that the TWICE 7th anniversary fanmeeting TWICE FANMEETING ONCE HALLOWEEN 3 has been cancelled.

Both artists and executives are deeply saddened by the tragic accident on the 29th.

Therefore, we are cancelling TWICE FANMEETING ONCE HALLOWEEN 3 previously scheduled on Saturday, November Sth.

We have seriously considered changing the concept, but due to the time constraint and various aspects, we have decided to officially cancel the event. We ask for your kind understanding. Specific details regarding the refund process due to the cancellation will be announced through a separate notice.”

As previously reported, at least 154 people died in relation to the crowd surge incident that happened in Itaewon on October 29. More than 100,000 people gathered in Itaewon to celebrate the Halloween weekend on October 29, and due to a suspected overcrowding surge, many began to faint and many people died as a result of the incident.

The Prime minister of South Korea has since announced a national mourning period until November 5. Flags will be hoisted, and public officials and institution employees will wear ribbons. All non-urgent events will also be postponed as a result.
