The 2022 Asia Artist Awards [hereafter the AAA] has unveiled its lineup of globally popular artists.
The Second lineup has been revealed, it includes Pentagon, K.A.R.D, Choi Ye Na, NiziU, NMIXX, and Tempest.
The group Pentagon will appear in the 2022 AAA, who made a comeback with their 12th mini-album “IN:VITE U” in January. Since then, they have proved their popularity in their home country and abroad by topping the domestic music charts with their title song “Feelin’ Like” and topping the iTunes top album chart in 30 regions around the world.
Co-ed group K.A.R.D also joined the lineup. K.A.R.D, who heated up this summer with their 5th mini-album “Re:” in June, successfully completed their North American tour of a total of 11 cities in the Americas in August.
Choi Ye Na will also join the awards ceremony. Choi Ye Na, who debuted as a solo artist earlier this year, announced her successful solo career by achieving No. 1 in domestic music charts and music programs and No. 1 in trending worldwide charts with the title song “SMILEY” (feat. BIBI). The second mini-album “SMARTPHONE,” released in August, has also been on the rise, recording initial sales twice as much as the previous one.
Japanese girl group NiziU from JYP Entertainment will also be on stage. NiziU, who officially debuted with the single “Step and a Step” in December 2020, became popular locally and has established themselves as a global group that the world is paying attention to. NiziU’s first solo tour, which was recently held in seven cities in Japan, is gaining huge popularity, attracting about 150,000 spectators.
NMIXX, who threw their hats into the K-pop scene with their debut single “AD MARE” earlier this year, drew attention as an “all-rounder group” in which all members have skills and visuals. NMIXX, who made a comeback with their second single “ENTWURF” last month, is attracting domestic and foreign fans by topping the Circle Chart (formerly Gaon Chart) album weekly chart and the Tower Records online daily sales chart in Japan.
Tempest has continued their steep rise this year, working on their debut album “It’s Me, It’s WE” and their second mini album “SHINING UP.” At the 2022 Brand of the Year Awards, they established themselves as a representative rookie idol of the year, winning the boy idol category (newbie).
Leeteuk and Jang Won Young will again appear as the MCs, and the first lineup which includes SEVENTEEN, THE BOYZ, Stray Kids, ITZY, TREASURE, IVE, Kep1er, LE SSERAFIM, and NewJeans has recently been unveiled, drawing attention from fans around the world.
Hosted by Star News and Media Boy and co-hosted by the Asia Artist Awards organizing committee, The Star Partners and Culture Entertainment, the “2022 AAA” will be held offline for the first time in three years at Nihongaishi Hall in Nagoya, Japan, on December 13.
On December 14, the day after the awards ceremony, the Gala Show “2022 AAA AFTER STAGE” will be held for the first time at the same place. Singer and actor Hwang Min Hyun and Nako Yabuki, a former member of the group IZ*ONE, will co-MC.
