Actor Park Seo Joon had a “Q & A” session while doing a photoshoot for ELLE, he discussed many subjects and spoke about his friendships including those with some of his famous friends as well as his outlook on life and more.

Below are the questions and answers from ELLE’s interview!

Q: While the works scheduled to be released by you are piled up one by one, this year, you visited the viewers first with two entertainment programs, “In the Soop: Friendcation” and “Youth MT”. Did you watch all the episodes?

A: Of course. I enjoyed both shows. “In the Soopt” was good because it reminded me of my trip with my friends where we had been to a long time ago, and “Youth MT” was so fun that I watched it with a smile as if I’m a viewer. I think it’ll all be a precious memory.

Q: If you were to define “companionship” in Park Seo Joon’s language, what will it be?

A:  “Fate”. I think all the colleagues I met in each of my works are precious. I think it’s wonderful to work together toward one goal of making good work and working hard from one’s respective positions. I’ve been thinking about this lately.

Q: Your personal YouTube channel “Record PARK’s” has recently surpassed 2 million subscribers. There aren’t many actors who are comfortable with Vlogs or daily entertainment shows. What kind of fun or meaning do you think they have?

A: I started YouTube because of my fans. I started because I wanted to show my fans what I couldn’t show them through my work, and at a time when I couldn’t tell them often about how I am doing because I was in the middle of filming, I wanted to tell them about how I’m doing even if it’s not much.

Q: In the upcoming movie “Dream,” you play the role of Yoon Hong Dae, a soccer player who became the coach of the homeless national soccer team. What do you think is the charm of soccer?

A: I tried to fully understand the character’s emotions in the movie, but I can’t know 100% of the actual soccer team coach or players’ emotions. But I can feel that all the players are fighting against themselves not only in the game but also in every moment. Wouldn’t it be the charm of all sports games, including soccer, to feel relief after seeing the players put all their energy into the game?

Q: Everyone knows about your friendship with Son Heung Min (a famous South Korean Football Player). How do you plan to watch the upcoming World Cup match in Qatar?

A: I don’t have any special plans yet. Wouldn’t watching it with my family or friends be good? I support all the Korean national team players, including Son Heung Min. Way to go!

Q: When you want to compliment or thank others, how do you express your gratitude towards them?

A: I think it’s the best expression to convey your true feelings rather than having a separate way of expressing one’s feelings. I’m not good at expressing my feelings. However, I always try to be sincere when I meet people or while I’m working.

Q: If you’re called the icon of ○○, what nickname do you want to see for yourself?

A: It’s a little embarrassing to say it myself, but I think I’ve heard the nickname “icon of youth” a lot through articles and media. Since youth is a time that has to pass someday, I would like to become an icon of maturity.

Q: When you look back on your career, if you have to pick the most memorable line, what would it be?

A: “You don’t decide my value. My life is just beginning and I will live my life achieving everything I want.” It’s a line from my drama “Itaewon Class.” You may face many obstacles and barriers in your life. The line, “I want to overcome those things and live by achieving what I want,” touched me even when I was reciting them. I hope that many people will live the life they want.

What do you think about his look for this photoshoot?
