Many Comebacks Postponed Due To Itaewon’s Tragedy: Apink’s Eunji, Yong Junhyung, DRIPPIN, Xdinary Heroes And More

Many kpop idols, artists and agencies have either announced the cancellation or halt of upcoming activities and comebacks due to Itaewon’s tragedy.

Woollim Entertainment announced that DRIPPIN’s comeback which was originally scheduled for November 1 has been postponed.

BRANDNEW MUSIC canceled YOUNITE’s comeback showcase which was originally scheduled for October 31. IRRIS also released a similar statement to delay the release of their new single “Stay W!th Me,” which was scheduled to be released on October 31.

Yong Junhyung, who was scheduled to make his first comeback in 6 years, will delay the release of “LONER,” which was originally scheduled to be released today. Apink’s Jung Eun Ji will also postpone the release of her upcoming remake album which was initially scheduled to be released on November 4.

ICHILLIN’ has postponed the release of their third digital single “Draw (MY TIME),” while YG announced their artists’ promotional content and schedules have all been halted until further notice.

Xdinary Heroes’ second mini album “Overload,” which was scheduled to be released on November 4, has also been postponed.

B.I’s release of his comeback material in preparation for his return has also been postponed.

As previously reported, at least 151 people died in relation to the crowd surge incident that happened in Itaewon on October 29. More than 100,000 people gathered in Itaewon to celebrate the Halloween weekend on October 29, and due to a suspected overcrowding surge, many began to faint and many people died as a result of the incident.

The Prime minister of South Korea has since announced a national mourning period until November 5. Flags will be hoisted, and public officials and institution employees will wear ribbons. All non-urgent events will also be postponed as a result.

Following the news, EXO’s Chen postponed his upcoming album release, SM canceled its annual Halloween party and Jaejoong canceled his Japanese concerts hours before it was supposed to begin out of respect. Later, many variety shows canceled their broadcast as well as upcoming concerts and festivals either postponing or canceling altogether.
