BREAKING: 146 People Dead, Over A 100 Injured At Crowd Surge Incident During Itaewon Halloween Celebration

Breaking news from South Korea. It has been reported that as of this writing, 146 people are dead in relation to the crowd surge incident that happened in Itaewon earlier today. The incident reportedly happened in a steep alley area.

According to emergency fire officials, the incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. KST on October 29. More than 100,000 people gathered in Itaewon to celebrate the Halloween weekend, it was the first time in three years following the easing of restrictions due from COVID-19.

Due to a suspected overcrowd surge, many began to faint and over 100 were reported to have suffered from cardiac arrest. Various videos on Twitter showed people received CPR on the street.

The number is still rising and the fire department expects the number of causalities to increase as there other cases at the hospital.

As of this writing, 146 people are dead and 150 are injured.
