The cast of “Glitch” talked about their upcoming drama at the press conference!

On the morning of September 27, a press conference for the Netflix series “Glitch” was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Actors Jeon Yeo Bin, Nana, and director Roh Deok attended the press conference and talked about their new project.

“Glitch” is a four-dimensional pursuit drama in which Ji Hyo, who can see aliens, and Bora, who has been tracking aliens, approach the reality of the unidentified mystery while chasing the whereabouts of Ji Hyo’s boyfriend, who disappeared without a trace.

Jeon Yeo Bin plays Ji Hyo, who sometimes sees aliens but pretends not to see them, and Nana plays Bora, a streamer who pursues the mystery. She is Ji Hyo’s childhood friend. The story of two people who seem normal people but can see aliens is portrayed in a way that is completely unimaginable.

When asked how Nana felt about presenting ‘Glitch’ in front of the world, she said,

I’m nervous because it’s my first time working on a Netflix series, and on the other hand, I’m looking forward to it. I’m feeling emotional to be able to greet director Roh Deok with her work.”

Director Roh Deok then said,

It’s my first time working with a streaming service (Netflix) which is unlike working on the movies, so I’m looking forward to how you’ll think about it. I’m waiting with excitement.”

When asked why the director titled the drama “Glitch,” director Roh Deok elaborated,

When you will watch the drama, the characters seem to be living well, but there are concerns that these characters do not know. There are also moments when these worries need to be addressed. I think those things can align with the errors and bugs that “Glitch” has. As you may have seen in the trailer, it seems to be a complex genre that cannot be explained in one specific genre. It can be seen as a buddy drama that follows the two characters, but I think the charm of this work is that it cannot be explained in a specific genre.”

When Jeon Yeo Bin was asked why she picked “Glitch”, she shared,

When I first read the script, I felt a composite genre of writing that was colorless and at the same time I felt the work has various colors. And I am a huge fan of director Roh Deok. When I auditioned as a student, I even demonstrated lines from her movie ‘Very Ordinary Couple.’ She was the one I was looking forward to meeting. I had a lot of curiosity and expectations.”

Nana also commented, raising expectations,

I was grateful to be able to work on a director Roh deok and writer Jin Han Sae’s project. I started reading the script with faith and trust in it. I also felt the script was fresh and interesting. After receiving the script, I wondered what was next. I read everything at once. I really wanted to try working on this project because it was fun to see unique characters overflowing with individuality coming together and going through adventures.”

Speaking about the role preparation process, Nana shared,

My character in the drama has a lot of tattoos, and I wanted to give meaning to it. So I contemplated a lot while choosing the tattoos one by one. My character also uses a lot of slang. I wondered if it would be a feature of the character to have tattoos. After thinking it through that’s why I added these pictures and thoughts.”

Jeon Yeo Bin said, raising curiosity about Nana’s appearance in the drama,

When she dressed up, it was really Bora (Nana’s character). I just remember admiring her. The character itself came to us. We didn’t have to do anything.”

Regarding working with director Roh Deok, Nana said,

I felt at the filming site that she was a director who understood, cared for, and freed the actors. I fell in so much love with her. I want to run to director Roh Deok whenever she calls me. I hope this relationship will continue in the future. I was so happy.”

Jeon Yeo Bin added, expressing her affection for the director,

I suddenly thought that while filming. There’s a saying that when the chemistry between an actor and a director becomes closer and better, there will be a moment when words are not needed. I don’t remember which day it was, but there was a day when I felt that there was exceptional unity on the set.”

Finally, director Roh Deok said,

The most important things in this work are faith and belief. It’s not alien or SF that matters, but the emotions of the characters that follow. I think I’m asking the question that the faith that makes up a person is the most important thing than existence.”

The drama will premiere on October 7.
