This recent news that has come out from The South Korean Ministry of National Defense is angering many netizens for different reasons.

The subject of BTS’s military enlistment has been getting discussed for a while now as many continue to voice differing opinions on what to do with BTS military service. There was a proposal to allow the members exemption but the proposal did not go through.

Recently, Korean news outlets have reported that the South Korean Ministry of National Defense will conduct a poll. The news was revealed by Lee Jong Sup, the Minister of Defense, who ordered officials to carry out a survey on whether the group should be granted exemption or not.

This comes at a crucial moment as BTS Jin turns 30 this year and must enlist before 2022 ends.

Lee Jong Sup says they have set a deadline and will order the poll very soon empathizing that it would reach a conclusion as soon as possible based on the results of the poll, signaling a different atmosphere within the government.

Minister Lee said, “We will make a decision on the BTS (military service) issue carefully, taking into account the opinions of several lawmakers and considering the national interest from various dimensions, but we will make a decision as soon as possible.”

With the news, it was reported that HYBE’s stock has risen in value.

Many are reacting negatively to the news of the survey for different reasons, ARMY believe that lawmakers refuse to leave the members alone to decide for themselves and are using their names for clout while others believe BTS should serve and a poll should not help decide this decision.

Do you think this BTS military enlistment poll is a good idea?

  1. Law should be equal to everyone no matter who the person is because it will give negative impact on people of South Korea and in future every one will get away by this.
They need set a example for future generations no matter whoever it is you need to abide by the law of the country.

  2. No need to change their law to any group even though I like BTS but laws should applied equally to every citizen not Just for any group
So i think BTS should also enlist
In future maybe there will another group or another BTS will come
So it’s not fair for every k-pop groups or idol
Many group lost popularity because of their enlistment
