BLACKPINK‘s official YouTube channel has surpassed 80 million subscribers becoming the artist with the highest number of subscribers on the platform.
According to YG Entertainment on September 5, the number of subscribers to BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel exceeded 80 million at 4:38 a.m. that day. It has been about six years and three months since the channel was opened, and it is the first and highest number for all artists around the world.
Earlier in July 2020, BLACKPINK was the first non-English-speaking artist to be listed on the “Top 5 YouTube Subscribers,” and has since surpassed famous pop stars such as Ariana Grande, Eminem, Ed Sheeran, Marshmallow, and Justin Bieber, ranking first in the world.
In addition, BLACKPINK’s second full-length album “Pink Venom” surpassed 100 million streaming views on Spotify the previous day. It is the shortest time for K-pop female artists to reach 100 million streaming on Spotify (17 days) and the 24th streaming song of BLACKPINK’s career.
Black Pink will release its second full-length album “Born Pink” at 1 p.m. on September 16.
