Eve” has aired its finale earlier today, here is a recap of its last episode and its ending explained.

“Eve” episode 16 begins with Lee La-El and Kang Yoon-Kyum being together at a remote villa. Han So-Ra and Kim Jung-Chul plan to kill Lee La-El so they stage that Kang Da-Bi has something wrong with her, when Kang Yoon-Kyum leaves, Kim Jung-Chul goes inside the place and attacks her.

Lee La-El hurts him severely in his injured leg but he overpowers her and begins to strangle her. Kang Yoon-Kyum realizes he’s been tricked and goes back inside, he beats Kim Jung-Chul on the head and then proceeds to strangle him, he kills him.

Later, Kang Yoon-Kyum gives sleeping pills to Lee La-El and tells her she should live a better life now, as she sleeps, he calls Seo Eun-Pyeong to tell him he killed him and wants to turn himself in.

Han So-Ra who is waiting until the next day sees Seo Eun-Pyeong and later sees police come in and carry the body of Kim Jung-Chul. She then gets call letting her know she’s getting divorced. She goes crazy and begins to cry, she’s unable to imagine herself being a divorced woman, so while everyone is busy at the crime scene, she sneaks in and kidnaps Lee La-El. She takes off in the car and yells ‘DIE’ to her.

Kang Yoon-Kyum and Seo Eun-Pyeong rush after her in their own cars, she crashes into a wall when tackled by Lee La-El who wakes up to see her going crazy. Then they have an altercation and Lee La-El gets stabbed, Kang Yoon-Kyum steps in and stops her, Seo Eun-Pyeong takes Lee La-El out of the car.

Right then and there, Kang Yoon-Kyum realizes it will never end, so he makes the decision to kill both himself and his wife. He drives off a cliff. He dies on impact while Han So-Ra is gravely injured.

Meanwhile, the police begins investigating the group for their crimes and their right-hand man submits evidence to court and turns himself in. He also says Han Pan-Ro has been locked up and he was told not to check on him. He passed away after being left alone to starve.

Kang Yoon-Kyum’s funeral is held quietly and its revealed that he transferred all of his shares to Lee La-El. Everything is now back into place and Lee La-El compensates the people who were affected by the crimes while they were constructing the tower of Babel.

Han So-Ra isn’t dead but she’s gone insane, she is in the early stages of schizophrenia and has methuselah syndrome and has erased her memories on her own because she’d kill herself otherwise. When Lee La-El sees her and hears this, she’s unfazed and goes to her to show her her face that is damaged and tells her she killed her husband with her own hands. She has a meltdown.

Lee La-El ultimately decides to leave to Buenos Aries permanently and books a one-way ticket. Seo Eun-Pyeong decides to later resign and go after her.

The end.

How dos “Eve” end?

The final scene of “Eve” shows Lee La-El imagining what it would have been like if they had met in Buenos Aries accidentally. She imagines herself sitting at the bar watching two people tango and when she turns her head she sees Kang Yoon-Kyum and they bow their heads. She imagines them dancing wearing white in a white big room, he asks her, ‘should we dance tango?’ and she says yes. The couple is happily dancing gazing into each other’s eyes.

What happened to Kim Jung-Chul?

He was killed by Kang Yoon-Kyum who saw him try to murder Lee La-El. He stumbled upon him at the villa strangling her, so he hit him with an object before he proceeded to strangle him until he died. He turned himself in.

Did Kang Yoon-Kyum die?

Yes, he died. After his wife attempted to kill Lee La-El, he takes the car she used to kidnap her and drives off a cliff, he dies on impact.

Did Han So-Ra die?

No, she didn’t but she went crazy. The doctor says she is in the early stages of schizophrenia and has methuselah syndrome. She has erased her memories on her own because she’d kill herself otherwise.

  1. Better for him to die, that actor ruined the series…no charm, not handsome, no appeal, bad acting! Maybe close to the producer that is why he was casted

    1. I am right there with you….he was a horrible choice…not in her league looks or acting wise and just very stoic throughout. Someone suggested that, maybe because of her controversy, some of the first choices didn’t want to do it. I’d take Lee Song Yeob any day!

  2. I’m not happy on how the story ends. La El ends up being left by all the people she loved. Hoped that LaEl and the Chairman ended together, rebuild the family, and healed each other.

  3. This was one of the dumbest dramas ever….none of the characters, outside of the kids, were sympathetic and the ending was no different. It was like the writers were trying to top one insane character with another. And, Park Byung Eun was totally miscast. It made no sense to any normal person (not the Lee La El was normal) would fall in love with him when Lee Song Yeob is there, plus he was just stoic throughout.
