BREAKING: The Oldest Active MC, Song Hae, Passes Away

Veteran MC Song Hae has passed away.

On June 8, it was revealed that Song Hae passed away at the age of 95. The MC recently received the title of the Oldest TV Music Talent Show Host by the Guinness World Records.

He’s known among Koreans for his hosting skills. He was born in 1927, and learned vocal music at Haeju Art School. He made his debut in 1955 through the Changgong Theater Company. He had come down to Busan in 1951 during the period of the Korean war.

He’s starred in many entertainment shows such as KBS2’s “A Look at Myself,” MBC TV’s “All Broadcasting in the World,” TV Chosun’s “The Golden Age of Alternate Characters,” and more.

He was awarded many trophies for his contributions across the years.

He hosted KBS’s “National Singing Contest” from 1988 for 34 years making him the oldest active MC.
