On June 22, the Jeonju 1st Criminal Division of the Jeonju District Court sentenced Choi Ha Min to a suspended sentence. He received a1 year and six months in prison and a 3-year probation. He was charged with violating the Act on Special Cases concerning the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (forced molestation of minors under 13 years of age). He was ordered to receive treatment for mental illness for two years and complete a 40-hour sexual violence treatment program. Along with that, he will be restricted from getting employment at a child or any youth related organization. For three years.

The rapper had admitted to the charges himself back in May.

The court says the defendant touched the child’s buttocks who was walking to his parents and note that an agreement with the victim hasn’t been reached to this day. Despite that, since the accused is reflecting on his crimes and was in a difficult physical and mental state due to his bipolar disorder, the court says he ‘committed the crime accidentally.’ Thus, he was given the light suspended sentence.

Choi Ha Min’s lawyer said in court that he was diagnosed with ‘severe mental disorder in June of last year and was hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital for 70 days.’ He had given the illogical reasoning for crime says, ‘I touched his butt to eat his poop.’

He also apologized to the victim of his crime.

Born in 199, Choi Ha Min made a name for himself in Mnet’s ‘High School Rapper’ Season 1 in 2017. He was signed to rapper Swings label but his contract ended last year. He’s currently a free-agent.

Netizens are disgusted to find out about the details of his crime and believe he’s been given a light sentence despite his crime.
