Hong Sisters upcoming drama “Alchemy of Souls” has finally confirmed its premiere date!

On May 7, tvN surprised fans with new video teasers featuring the two main leads Lee Jae Wook and Jung So Min.

“Alchemy of Souls” is a fantasy romance drama taking place in the fictional nation named Daeho, a country that doesn’t exist in history or maps. The story will follow a set of main characters whose fates get twisted due to magic that switches people’s souls. The drama’s title itself refers to the soul switch.

“Alchemy of Souls” is written by the Hong sister who famously worked on many hit dramas such as “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho,” “The Greatest Love,” “Master’s Sun,” “Hotel Del Luna,” and more. It will be directed by Park Joon Hwa of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim.”

Lee Jae Wook is taking on the role of the sophisticated yet troublesome young master Jang Wook of the Jang family within Daeho nation. He’s a character that has a tragic background, the entire nation gossips about his shocking birth secret. He’s angry with the world but returns to the proper path after meeting assassin Mu Deok Yi (Jung So Min).

In Lee Jae Wook’s video teaser, he’s seen wearing traditional attire while kneeling down by a fire burning what appears to be a book. However, the sequence in which the book gets burned is reversed. Jang Wook stares at the camera.

Jung So Min will take on the role of Mu Deok Yi, a great assassin stuck in the world’s weakest body. She becomes Jang Wook’s attendant and secret mentor, she teaches him in a brutal manner. In her video teaser, she is initially blindfolded but uses her sword to see, then she sees flashbacks of what appears to be past events where she fights and there is blood. The teaser finishes with her staring at the camera.

“Alchemy of Souls” premieres on June 18.
