BLACKPINK was reportedly joining the highly competitive June music release with a new album but YG has now denied such reports.

On April 26, a Korean news outlet posted an article discussing some of the most anticipated comebacks of the second half of 2022. While discussing Lim Young Woong and BTS’s comeback, an industry insider is quoted saying BLACKPINK will join June’s comeback rush.

What fueled speculations even more was a clip of Jennie recently hinting at their pending comeback by saying, ‘we will come back soon, please wait,’ in one of her YouTube channel videos.

On April 27, YG Entertainment denied those reports. In a statement to news outlets, they stated that while BLACKPINK is indeed working on new music, nothing has been decided yet and the reports of a June comeback is not true. They added that they will release the official schedule once everything is confirmed.

BLACKPINK last comeback was with “THE ALBUM” in October of 2020.
