Son Naeun has left Apink.
On April 8, it was reported that Son Naeun had departed Apink after being with the group for 11 years. The group will celebrate their 11th anniversary soon, they have recently released an album with Son Naeun.
According to The Fact, Son Naeun has decided to leave the group because she couldn’t juggle her idol and acting activities at the same time.
The report states that after IST Entertainment and YG Entertainment discussed the situation with the members, they came to the conclusion that Son Na Eun will conclude her activities with the group.
Later, in a statement to the press, IST Entertainment confirmed that Naeun will be leaving Apink. The agency says that after discussions between the agencies and the group members, Naeun has decided to conclude her activities with the group.
IST Entertainment wrote the following:
“Apink will continue their group activities by reorganizing the team with 5 members Park Chorong, Yoon Bomi, Jung Eunji, Kim Namjoo, and Oh Hayoung, starting with Apink’s 11th anniversary fan song release, which is scheduled to be released on April 19th. Naeun Son wraps up her group activities and both will support each other in their respective paths.
Since Apink’s special album release in February, we have been having in-depth discussions with the members about the future direction of the group’s activities.
All 6 members and officials from both companies met in person to share their opinions on the group’s overall activities, and after much deliberation, this decision was recently made. As it is a conclusion we reached through careful consideration, we will respect the opinions of the members who have chosen the path of mutual consideration and support their future activities.
We apologize for causing concern to PANDA [Apink’s fandom name], who have always been with us, we ask for your understanding.
We will continue to provide full support for Apink’s group activities and forthe personal growth of the five members. Also, we will do our best for the fans who continue to love and support Apink.
As you have done for the past 10 years, we would like to ask for your warm interest and love for the Apink members who will continue to be active in various fields.”
Later, Son Naeun took to Instagram to personally share her decision to depart the group with a handwritten letter to fans. She wrote,
“I’ve been thinking about how to tell you this story and even as I am now writing this, I am nervous.
I have decided to leave Apink whom I’ve been with for the past 11 years.
Apink is like a family and it was a difficult decision to make. As it was not an easy decision to make, I will become another panda as I cheer on Apink.”
She also talked about how Apink made her 10s and 20s the best days of her life and thanked everyone for supporting her and added she’ll do her best to show a new better side of herself. She concluded her letter with, ‘this has been Apink’s Son Naeun.’
