Lee Joon Gi has spoken about the heartbreaking ending of “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” once again and revealed they filmed an unreleased different ending scene.

On the March 31 episode of “MMTG,” Lee Joon Gi appeared as a guest. During the interview, his hit drama was brought up and along with it the heartbreaking ending that fans still complain about to date.

Lee Joon Gi revealed he received good energy from the cast and revealed many recognize his face from this drama.

When the host mentioned the possibility of “Scarlet Heart: Goryeo” season two, Lee Joon Gi said, “I also hoped for season two, we talked about it a lot.”

Lee Joon Gi then opened up about the unreleased ending of the drama where in the final scene Wang So [Lee Joon Gi] hands Hae Soo [IU] a handkerchief, screenshots of that ending circulated the web but the final ending turned out to be different and had actually cut that part.

Lee Joon Gi says in that scene after he hands her the handkerchief, she looks at him while he stands there not knowing anything about what had happened, he smiles and turns away, when Hae Soo calls him and looks at him, she smiles back.

Lee Joon Gi says the director faced a dilemma until the very end, he says regardless of the choice, he believed it was best if he left a more piercing impression on viewers. He also added that he thought the unreleased footage would appear in the DVD but it was blocked.

Lee Joon Gi is set to return with “Again My Life” on April 8 at 10 p.m.
