Ha Ji Won Joins Kang Ha Neul In Upcoming KBS Drama Airing In 2022

Ha Ji Won has confirmed her first drama appearance in nearly three years.

On April 24, it was confirmed that Ha Ji Won is set to join Kang Ha Neul in the upcoming drama “Trees Die on Their Feet” which has changed its name to “Curtain Call.”

“Curtain Call” tells the story of an elderly woman who came from North Korea, she doesn’t have much time to live, a theatre actor acts as her grandson to fulfill her last wish. This changes his life.

Youn Yuh Jung is reportedly still in talks to play Ja Geum Soon, a woman born in 1930 in North Korea, while Son Ye Jin was initially offered the role of Park Se Yeon, Ja Geum Soon’s granddaughter who is in charge of Hotel Nakwon.

Ha Ji Won is taking on the role of Park Se Yeon, she’s a practical manager and a good leader. She’s experienced everything there is to experience in the hotel and is loved by all the executives.

Kang Ha Neul will be playing Yoo Jae Heon, an optimistic man who has high self-esteem and self-love despite growing up under difficult conditions. He’s an unknown theatre actor from a local theatre company. He receives the unexpected request out of the blue from an elderly gentleman to act as someone’s grandson.

The upcoming drama will be helmed by director Yoon Sang Ho of “River Where the Moon Rises,” “King Maker: The Change of Destiny,” and “Saimdang, Light’s Diary,” and written by scriptwriter Jo Sung Geol of “Hitman: Agent Jun” and “Midnight Runners.” Kang Ha Neul has previously worked with the director and screenwriter on different projects.

“Curtain Call” will wrap up the casting soon and begin filming as soon as possible. It is scheduled to air in the second half of 2022.
