BTS Jimin has recently made headlines after a report by a news outlet went viral.

On April 24, Korean news outlet Biz Hankook reported that the National Health Insurance Service had seized Jimin’s apartment at Nine One Hannam in Seoul on January 25 due to unpaid health insurance premiums.

Jimin had purchased the apartment for 5.9 billion won (approximately $4.7 million) back in May of last year.

The report goes on to state that Jimin had received four separate notices about the seizure during the time his apartment was temporarily seized. The seizure was lifted on April 22 after he paid his dues.

The report has since gone viral with fans showing mixed reactions to it, many believe this is a private issue that he had resolved and didn’t need to be released to the media, others speculated on the reason behind why Jimin wouldn’t have paid his dues.

Later on the same day, Big Hit Music issued a statement to clarify that it was their mistake. They said,

“Omission happened due to an error as the company is the first to receive the mail that arrives to the artist’s dorm. Due to Jimin’s activities overseas as well as his vacation, he was unaware of the situation. As soon as he’s found out, he paid the amount in full and at the present, the situation has been resolved.”

Big Hit ended their statement with an apology for their negligence.
