The star-studded cast for the highly anticipated upcoming Hong Sisters’ drama “Hwan Hon” (romanized title) has been unveiled!
“Hwan Hon” is a fantasy romance drama taking place in the fictional nation named Daeho, a country that doesn’t exist in history or maps. The story will follow a set of main characters whose fates get twisted due to magic that switches people’s souls. The drama’s title itself refers to the soul switch.
“Hwan Hon” had made its decision to replace its main actress last year delaying production. Initially, Rookie actress Park Hye Eun was cast as the female lead but dropped out of the project after mutual agreement with the production.
“Hwan Hon” is written by the Hong sister who famously worked on many hit dramas such as “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho,” “The Greatest Love,” “Master’s Sun,” “Hotel Del Luna,” and more. It will be directed by Park Joon Hwa of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim.”
Lee Jae Wook is taking on the role of the sophisticated yet troublesome young master Jang Wook of the Jang family within Daeho nation. He’s a character that has a tragic background, the entire nation gossips about his shocking birth secret. He’s angry with the world but returns to the proper path after meeting assassin Mu Deok Yi (Jung So Min).
Jung So Min will take on the role of Mu Deok Yi, a great assassin stuck in the world’s weakest body. She becomes Jang Wook’s attendant and secret mentor, she teaches him in a brutal manner.
Minhyun is playing the role of the genius prince Seo Youl of the Seo family. He knows literature and is skilled at martial arts with a noble personality and appearance. He is in love with a secret girl.
Shin Seung Ho will star as the petty and mischievous crown prince Go Won of Daeho nation. He wants to be a generous gentle king but after Mu Deok Yi sees through him and finds his ill-tempered and humane nature, he reveals his feelings in front of her.
Yoo Joon Sang will play Park Jin, the head of Song Rim, which is the largest corporation in Daeho nation. He’s a natural leader who receives great respect from young musicians. He’s always worried about Jang Wook, the son of his close friend who he practically considers as his own son, who doesn’t follow the path he think is best for him.
Oh Na Ra plays the role of Kim Do Joo, the housekeeper of the Jang family who has great influence over the household. She cares for everything within the household, she’s a strong woman but she’s only weak for Jang Wook.
Finally, Jo Jae Yoon will play Jin Mu, he’s the vice-head of the government office Cheonbugwan who rose to his post while hiding his ambitions. He’s a person who isn’t afraid of carrying out magic that some might consider taboo if it helps him achieve his goals.
The upcoming drama is slated to premiere in 2022.
