“Dear.M” will finally be broadcasted, but not where you expect!

On March 24, it was reported that “Dear.M” will be airing in Japan before South Korea. The news came after the drama was delayed indefinitely due to one of its main cast getting into controversy.

Later, KBS confirmed in an official statement that the drama is airing in Japan. “Dear.M” broadcasting rights have been sold to many foreign countries and thus, the drama will air in Japan first before South Korea. KBS didn’t comment on when the drama is set to air in South Korea.

The drama was originally scheduled to premiere in February of 2021. However, Park Hye Soo’s bullying allegations came out in mid-February of that same year, and as a result, the premiere of “Dear.M” was pushed back indefinitely, KBS then announced their decision to air “Imitation” before “Dear.M.”

As a result of the accusations, fans petitioned to kick out Park Hye Soo from the drama, however, a source from KBS stated the drama has been put on hold while the allegations against Park Hye Soo are being verified through police investigation, KBS will wait until a verdict comes out and will implement changes accordingly such as re-shoots and more.

The issue became bigger for KBS since “Dear.M” was a pre-produced drama, meaning it was shot completely before its premiere putting KBS in a difficult spot, re-shoots would not only be expensive but could face difficulties depending on the actors availability to re-shoot depending on their schedules.

Park Hye Soo has vehemently denied the bullying allegations made against her, and despite her strong response and the fact that her label is taking strict legal action public opinion on her remains largely negative.

“Dear.M” is led by Park Hye Soo, NCT Jaehyun, and more.
